The craniotomy procedure begins by making an incision in the scalp elevating a skin flap. Few burr holes are made in the skull and then using a high-speed drill, a fragment is removed. A section of the skull is removed.
Beneath the skull, there are three layers of the membrane which cover the brain which has to be opened to reach the brain.
