Varicose veins are dilated, elongated, tortuous veins, which are most commonly seen in the legs, which can cause leg swelling, calf muscle cramps, skin discoloration in the lower 1/3rd of the leg, followed by itching and infection called cellulitis leading on to ulceration. Some of the patients may have bleeding and few of them also may have blood clot in the vein.
