Talking about the relevance of the topic in an age like this, Dr Padmapriya Vivek, Head of Department – Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gleneagles Global Health City said “The pandemic for sure has taken a toll on all of us, but especially the women. Therefore, we wanted to motivate women to place their well-being first.”

Dr Aafrin Shabbir, Consultant – Internal Medicine, Gleneagles Global Health City added, “Growing up as women in India, we have always been taught to take care of those around us first. But what we fail to realize is that we cannot serve from an empty vessel. We need to take care of ourselves first, to ensure that we are physically and mentally healthy, and in order to take care of others.”

The session ended with a round of follow-up questions from the audience, which were answered by the panelists patiently. To keep the momentum going, a short quiz on female health was conducted for the audience, the winners were given gift coupons.

Speaking on the relevance of the topic in today’s context, Dr Alok Khullar, CEO, Gleneagles Global Health City said, “Women are born as care-givers and excel in every sphere of life while forgetting to focus on their own well-being. Especially during the pandemic, self-care and well-being had taken a hit. Hence, we as an organization wanted to talk about the need to put themselves first in every situation.”
