Treatments and Services

The department of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging at Gleneagles Global Health City offers a wide range of treatments and services.

A PET-CT scan combines the features of positron emission tomography (PET) with computed tomography (CT) for diagnostic imaging. We offer the following PET-CT services:

  • PET-CT Brain
  • F-18 Bone Scan
  • FDG PET-CT Whole Body
  • FDG PET-CT Myocardial Viability
  • PET MRI Fusion

Gamma Camera and Other Conventional Nuclear Medicine

Gamma cameras couple radioactive isotopes with drugs/chemicals and allow a graphical reconstruction of the physiological and pathological processes taking place in the body. The services we offer for gamma cameras include:

  • Bone Scan
  • Brain Spect
  • Cisternography
  • Dacryocystogram
  • Gastroesophageal Reflux
  • Gastric Emptying Study
  • GI Bleed Study
  • Cardiac Scan (Myocardial Perfusion Scan, Muga, Viability)
  • Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy
  • I-131 (Whole-body Scan And MIBG)
  • Lung Shunt Quantification
  • Lung Ventilation-perfusion Scan
  • Liver/Spleen Scan
  • Lymphoscintigraphy
  • Meckel’s Scan
  • Parathyroid Scan
  • Sentinel Lymph Node Imaging
  • Renal Scans
  • Testicular Scan
  • Thyroid Scan
  • Venography

Radionuclide Therapies

Radionuclide therapy involves a radioactive drug called a radiopharmaceutical that targets and kills cancer cells. Radionuclide therapies we offer are:

  • Radioiodine (I-131) therapy for thyroid cancer
  • Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT) with Lu-177 Dotatate for neuroendocrine tumors
  • Peptide Receptor Radioligand Therapy (PRRT) With Lu-177 PSMA For castration-resistant prostate cancer
  • I-131 MIBG Therapy for neuroblastoma/neuroendocrine tumors
  • Transarterial Radioembolization (Tare) with Y-90 Sir Spheres for liver cancers/liver metastasis
  • Samarium (153.5m) for bone pain palliation
  • Radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism

Other Interventional Procedures Routinely Performed

Other routine procedures performed by the department include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Sentinel Lymph Node Mapping (Slnb) and Biopsy For Early Breast Cancers (Done by an intraoperative gamma probe)
  • Pharmaceutical/Physical stress-induced Myocardial Perfusion Study for Cardiac Disorders
  • Pet Guided Biopsy
  • Transarterial Radioembolization (TARE)
